We are Joannathan (Joanne + Jonathan) of Encarnacion Photography. The most inspirational location we have ever experience is on our couch in the living room. We have a 5 year old daughter who is full of wonders at the moment, and the living room for us is where the magic happens. It’s a place where we can travel into a world of pillow shaped fortresses and ships, become pirates, read books about far away lands, watch fairy tale movies, draw pictures, and of course take loads of photographs. You don’t need to travel far for inspiration, as it can always be found close to the heart.

i do not have a specific location because the couples i photograph are my inspiration. for me, the location is just the backdrop. i am a photographer because i am inspired by people and their love for one another.

My favorite location so far is the Irazú Volcano (Costa Rica) It is full with fog and sand this days and my shoot had an beautiful ethereal look.

I would have to say, hands down the beautiful coastal line of New Zealand’s black sand beaches. I once visited (after viewing the movie the Piano) and to this day it Piha Beach, New Zealand was probably one of the most breathtaking images I have still engrained in my mind.

Ellis Island in NYC.

I photographed a young Russian couple who where not yet citizens. They wanted to be married at this location where millions of people came to seek the American dream. It was not long ago my family seeked the same dream. It spoke to my soul.

Oh..the most inspirational place I have been on this planet was on the edge of the caribbean sea in the Belizian – Garifuna village of Dandriga right where the mouth of the river opens into the ocean. A herd of wild horses crossed through the water right by me with the sun blazing. Oh..I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Going to the Mayan pyramids April 16th! I love Central America! :)
